MGCP on routers

MGCP on routers -

MGCP for routers works much like a SCCP phone registration. Keep alives are sent all host. If the primary is available the then this is the host that will be registered to. Registration request are sent to this host.

I have seen where this process will hang. From a show ccm the back up will show registered even though the primary is available. No MGCP did not have effect only a reload of the router resolved.

Critical configs for the registration process:

ccm-manager fallback-mgcp - necessary for SRST/H.323
ccm-manager redundant-host X.X.X.X - Backup server
ccm-manager mgcp
ccm-manager config server X.X.X.X - Note this location for tftp download (config)
